Charlotte Plummer
Since the early 1900’s, the corner of Cactus Street and Beach Street in Rockport, TX has been home to a restaurant and the restaurant that has stood the test of time since the min-1970s and occupies the space to this day is Charlotte Plummer’s Seafare Restaurant. A mainstay in the Rockport and Aransas restaurant scene, Charlotte Plummer’s offers a huge variety of fresh local seafood as well as more traditional American fare including a fantastic kids menu. The go to on the menu continues to be the Famous Platters that feature a variety of seafood combos including Coconut Shrimp, Grilled Seafood, Platter and our favorite, the Fried Catfish. The Boiling Pot Restaurant
If grabbing a wooden mallet and cracking open crab claws sounds like your type of interactive meal, then The Boiling Pot is ideal for you. A rustic beach shack, the restaurant has been a staple of Rockport for years. The main draw to this popular restaurant is the boil: cooked in the Cajun style of throwing crab, shrimp crawfish and veggies in a big pot and boiling it all with a selection of delectable spices and seasoning. Tables are covered in paper and the drained seafood feast is dumped in the center for all to dig in and enjoy. Take full advantage of the bibs provided but expect to get a little messy. For the less adventurous, traditional fare is offered from oysters on the half shell to peel and eat shrimp, but it’s the boil that keeps diners coming back time and again. The Boiling Pot can be found at 201 S Fulton Beach Rd.
