I was born and raised in a little agricultural town in Southwest Arkansas, I grew up showing Santa Gertrudis cattle, and Quarter horses and working on the family farm. I was very active in 4-H and FFA and just to make sure I was well rounded threw in a few pageants for good measure. My husband, our three boys and I moved to Forney Texas, at that time a tiny little suburb of Dallas, where my oldest daughter was born in 2000, then to Midland where I started my Real Estate career and my baby girl joined the family in 2008.
I was very fortunate to begin my career with a fantastic broker and managing broker and in 9 years built a wonderful business in return and referal customers. From my first sale, a $17,000.00 shack with a questionable history, to beautiful million dollar homes, I sold them all, but my very favorite thing to do was and still is to walk nervous first time buyers through the biggest purchase of their lives! Real Estate, while being a big financial decision is also in many occasions, an emotional decision as well. That has to be taken into consideration while assisting the client to the decision that is truly best for their purpose, be that a new home for their family, or an investment in their future.
West Texas was great, but this mermaid needs water!! So in 2013 my husband and I with our 4 youngest children, left the high plains desert and headed for Rockport! We love the coastal life, though it did take quite some time to adjust to the much slower pace of life. We really enjoy the fact that though it is a good bit more diverse than where we grew up, Rockport still has about as many of those small town values as you will find anywhere these days and are happy that our children are getting to experience this.
When I am not selling houses, I am usually busy with my other passion, which is food! I love to cook, I love to entertain, I love to sit around a table and share the things that I enjoy, thus "A Mermaid's Kitchen" a tiny little personal chef and catering business was born, so now I get to make my living with my two passions in this beautiful little town by the Sea, and I get to share that with my friends and clients, I cannot think of a more blessed way to live and work.
